Chapter 1 - Session 3

Over the tops of the leafy Juniper trees, an Osprey cries. While atop the Hekate Tower Nite responds to the calls recognizing the bird as Merlin, a pet of her sister Lily. In familiar company Merlin directs Nite's attention to the middle waterfall cascading down from the Clouded Basin. Hopes this may be where all of the members of the order start to swell within Nite and Diana as they set off.

Traversing the dense forest almost comes as second nature to the group, but not even they can make the trek in a single day. They decide to camp along the river side to clean up and rest for the next dawn. Diana and Nite swiftly fall into a deep slumber with wildly vivid dreams dancing in their minds. Nite is greeted with a blue scene of a forest, one where she is dwarfed by the trees surrounding her; trees that she is compelled to climb. Diana's dream however presents her with a pair of cross roads, one leading towards a dense tree line and the other a towering city.

The night is not calm however as Fyrn and Vlaliskia are awakened by a blue jelly falling from the tree on top of the sleeping compatriots. Nite and Diana do not rise to the attack and continue to drift as Fyrn attempts to drag them out to safety and Vlaliskia spearheads the jiggling ooze.

Nite dream turns nightmare as she is pummeled and speared when she tumbles down the tree branch. Screaming out for Diana's help she is only awakened when a blinding flash of light pierces her in the chest snapping her back to reality. In the other dream scape Diana lets the fates decide her path by tossing her broken great sword in the air, leading her towards the ascending brick walls pulling her towards the childhood visage of her mother. She reaches to grasp her hand to no avail before she returns to consciousness.

The campsite now splattered with the remains of the jelly, the night now rests until morning. With the new dawn time to cross the river and journey to the mouth of a cave that rests at the bottom of the waterfall. Dark and damp they wander through the narrow tunnel and arrive at a massive underground city. One where the buildings are made of giant red and white mushrooms with white mycelium covering every surface illuminated by fireflies flicking in the cavern. A strange grin crosses Nite and Diana's face before they catch sight of the mushrooms moving. Then standing in front of them is Lily with a rosy complexion dotted with white freckles.
