Chapter 1 - Session 2

As evening crept across the grassland, it was time to make camp and rest up for the next day. Nite hunted down dinner, Fyrn and Vlaliskia set camp, and Diana studied the Orcish scroll. Reading through the text Diana has discovered the Orcs are in search for something called the Everburn Bracers which Fyrn recognizes as a stolen artifact from one of her old temples. Surely something that should be kept out of the hands of the Empire.

The dawn of morning brings Diana and Nite to engage in their routine sparring before they set off, keeping each other sharp. As the tree line starts to thicken, we stumble upon a salt and pepper bearded human in unmarked chain armor sipping some tea beside a simmering fire. Nite, spying the hand bag with the potential of a meal, decided to go on the offensive and held the man at blade point.

The man seemed unphased, if not even welcoming to the situation. Introducing himself as Ogden, he was looking for a fight claiming that nobody was enough of a challenge for him. Fyrn was the only one that did not want blood shed and attempted to break up the fight. Ogden and Diana however turned into fierce rivals. Ogden knocked Vlaliskia unconscious in the 3 on 1 fight, but he does not live to tell the tale.

With his death , the black cat pelt draped over his shoulder began to float as forces pulled on Ogden's body before it was engulfed in the fur and vanished. Although Vlaliskia was downed during the scuffle, Nite's quick reaction to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation brought her back to life! Now more wary of their surroundings they continued their travels.

Through the woods of the Sage Falls and across a lake lies the Pale Temple, one of the sanctums for the Order of Hekate. Both Nite and Diana worry as the walls are covered in white spotted red mushrooms and the only sounds ringing through the halls are the rattles of the 3 foot tall mushrooms expelling their spores. The 3 story tall stone spire, normally walked with those studying the healing arts and powers of nature is now completely void. This fungus has infected every nook of the temple, including the top level where the 3 statues of Hekate sit covered in a pulsing purple goo.

The goo violently reaches out towards nearby living creatures and saps the life straight out of them. Best course of action was to burn the intruding growth with fire. As the smoke clears from the cleansing, Nite hears a familiar cry across the horizon as Merlin the Osprey and pet to Nite's sister flies towards them.
